As most of you Pros already realize, when you complete a re-roof for a client, they are entitled to some substantial discounts (credits) on the wind portion of their home owner's insurance. A licensed roofer cannot complete the Wind Mitigation report unless they also hold a Division 1 or HI license as well. Besides.... even if you hold the other license(s) required to perform a Win Mit, your time is much better spent selling roofs, since you and I know, roofing is much more lucrative than inspecting! ;)

The best opportunity to get photos of entities such as roof to wall connections, deck fastening, and of course SWR is at tear-off. I have yet to have an insurer question such detailed photos taken prior to the dry-in!
As a secondary benefit and excellent opportunity for return business for you, all my reports are digital, loaded with detailed photos, and hosted on my web site indefinately. This means that the client can access their report 24/7/365 forever... should they ever misplace their report. As another "value added service" to the roofers who take advantage of this opportunity, ALL the roofing contractor's information is clearly placed at the top heading of the report. Important info such as company name, phone number, email, license number, logo, even web site address is easily visible to your client.... forever! I cannot think of a more productive method for you to gain return business or referals from your clients... and it's absolutely FREE!
