Florida Architect Continuing Education Requirements for the 2025 Renewal

Architects are required to complete 24 hours of continuing education (22 hours in health, safety, and welfare related courses and 2 hours in the Florida Building Code advance course).

Continuing Education credits for the 2/28/2025 renewal must be completed by 12/31/2024.

Florida Interior Designer Continuing Education Requirements for the 2025 Renewal

Interior Designers are required to complete 20 hours of continuing education (14 hours in health, safety, and welfare related courses, 2 hours in the Florida Building Code advance course, and 4 hours in optional or health, safety, and welfare related courses).

Continuing Education credits for the 2/28/2025 renewal must be completed by 2/28/2025.

Advanced Course Requirement

Both Architect and Interior Design licensees are required to obtain a minimum of 2 hours of continuing education by completing an approved provider’s specialized or advanced course, approved by the Florida Building Commission, on the Florida Building Code, relating to the licensee’s respective area of practice for future renewals.

Note on course reporting:
Architecture and Interior Design continuing education course providers are exempt from reporting attendance rosters.

Architect and Interior Design continuing education course providers are exempt from reporting attendance rosters.

Courses that are automatically accepted for continuing education credit but not specifically assigned a course number by the department (i.e. AIA, IDCEC, NCARB, etc.) cannot be reported or manually entered into the department’s computer system

Licensees do not provide completion certificates at the time of renewal, they simple attest required CE hours have been completed. If a licensee is selected for audit they will be required to produce course completion certificates to verify attendance. Pace completion certificates can be printed immediately upon successful course completion, and also will remain available to print through the Pace site for at least six years.
