Pinellas County Construction Licensing Board (PCCLB) Continuing Education Requirements

PCCLB Specialty Contractors are required to complete 14 hours of continuing education each two-year renewal cycle. They must have all education requirements satisfied and current in order to renew their license(s) online for 2021.

For September 30, 2021 renewals, the mandatory continuing education requirements for PCCLB specialty contractors are:

(a) Specialized or advanced module course approved by the Florida Building Commission or the Board
(b) Workplace safety;
(c) Business practices;
(d) Workers' compensation;
(e) Laws and rules regulating the construction industry;
(f) Wind mitigation methodologies if license is held in the following categories: specialty structure or glass and glazing.

PCCLB Specialty Contractors must have all education requirements satisfied and current in order to renew license(s) online.

For renewals, mandatory continuing education requirements for PCCLB specialty contractors are:

Fourteen (14) total hours are required. Balance of hours after mandatory courses are taken are courses of your choice.

New contractor licenses issued after January 1, 2021 to Pinellas County Certified Contractors will not be required to produce Continuing Education. PCCLB Specialty Contractors can only renew by mail, using our drop box, or visit the PCCLB in person.

Pace does not report courses to the PCCLB. Students will be able to print out Certificates of Completion for each course that should be turned into the PCCLB with their renewal application.
