(1) Required Hours. Pursuant to Sections 58-55-302.7 and 58-55-303, each licensee shall complete at least 16 hours of continuing education during each two-year license term (November 30th of even years). At least 12 hours shall be core education. The remaining four hours may be professional or core education.

(2) "Core continuing education" is defined as eight hours of education covering the National Electrical Code as adopted or proposed for adoption, and four hours of education covering the National Fire Protection Association 70E (NFPA 70E).

Note: You must include the NFPA 70E - Safety course (4 hours) and two additional Core courses (8 hours) as part of your 16-hour CE requirement.

Note: Our approval covers electrician licenses that end in -5502 (Master Electrician), -5503 (Residential Master Electrician), -5504 (Journeyman Electrician), -5505 (Apprentice Electrician), or -5506 (Residential Journeyman Electrician). Our approval does not cover a contractor license that ends in -5501 (General Electrical Contractor). The Utah DOPL has special requirements for those licenses.

Utah DOPL approved providers are required to report course completion rosters to the state within 7 days of course completion. In practice, Pace typically reports your courses within 3 business days, much quicker than required by the state. Once reported, the course status will display a "Reported" icon rather than the "Completed" icon.
