Course Description


This course is part of a series of courses and certification on the Conflict-Free Home Remodeling Process. The courses were written by Stephen Gidus and the remodeler certification is offered through REMODology, LLC. “REMODology Part V – Final Plans & Specifications” focuses on Step 3 of the Pre Construction Phase, the Final Plans & Specifications. Key information in this phase will become the final documents from which the remodeler and his team of trades and suppliers will work. This step of The Home Remodeling Process is covers researching, compiling, refining and presenting all the information necessary to accomplish the homeowner’s dream.

Course Objectives


Upon completion of the course, Florida contractors will understand the:

 

  • expectations of the residential designer
  • expectations of the interior designer
  • purpose and benefit of the bid conference
  • purpose and outline of the construction specifications
  • purpose and outline of the general conditions
  • importance of obtaining the final agreement and commitment from the homeowner to move forward with construction


Instructor Bio


Ms. Prinse holds a BS Degree in Environmental Studies from Eckerd College and has pursued master degree studies in Aquatic Zoology at the University of South Florida. She has written scientific portions of impact statements for wetland/upland land delineation, endangered species studies, and water quality testing while employed with a civil engineering and architectural firm in Tampa, FL. Her experience in environmental studies and new construction lend itself to documentary film making, particularly environmental stories that have taken her to the Amazon in Peru and to Costa Rica. Most recently her involvement with earthen construction projects led to a video production showcasing the benefits of building “green.”
