Course Description


This course is part of a series of courses and certification on the Conflict-Free Home Remodeling Process. The courses were written by Stephen Gidus and the remodeler certification is offered through REMODology, LLC. “REMODology Part VII – General Conditions (Protecting Assets)” is a part of Step 3 of the Pre Construction planning phase. This course outlines the business side on the remodeling process with a goal of protecting both the remodeler and homeowner from potential unnecessary conflict.

Course Objectives


Upon completion of the course, Florida contractors will:

 

  • understand potential areas of concern from the homeowners perspective determine potential areas of concern from the remodelers perspective
  • discover what nuances you should be addressed with a homeowner before starting construction of a remodel or addition
  • be able to utilize General Conditions to create peaceful relationship between the remodeler and homeowner
  • understand how to avoid unnecessary lawsuits
  • draw a deeper understanding form sample contract related clauses, payment related clauses, project environment related clauses, construction methods &


Instructor Bio


Ms. Prinse holds a BS Degree in Environmental Studies from Eckerd College and has pursued master degree studies in Aquatic Zoology at the University of South Florida. She has written scientific portions of impact statements for wetland/upland land delineation, endangered species studies, and water quality testing while employed with a civil engineering and architectural firm in Tampa, FL. Her experience in environmental studies and new construction lend itself to documentary film making, particularly environmental stories that have taken her to the Amazon in Peru and to Costa Rica. Most recently her involvement with earthen construction projects led to a video production showcasing the benefits of building “green.”
