Continuing Education Requirements: Arkansas journeymen (J- and RJ-) electrician and master (M- and RM-) electrician licensees are required to take eight (8) hours of continuing education each National Electrical Code cycle. Prior to renewal, the licensee must obtain 8 continuing education hours from current NEC cycle courses, regardless of applying for a one, two, or three year license renewal.

010.13-019 Continuing Education
A. No journeyman electrician license or master electrician license shall be renewed unless the licensee completes at least eight (8) hours of continuing education for each National Electrical Code (NEC) cycle. Continuing education shall consist of classroom or other Board approved instruction relating specifically to the National Electrical Code. The NEC cycle shall begin on January 1 of each year of NEC publication.
2023 NEC code courses should have been completed by 12/31/2025
The upcoming 2026 NEC courses must be completed between 1/1/2026 and 12/31/2026

Reporting Guidelines (new as of 2022): The license holder is required to provide the following continuing education course information when applying for license renewal: Course date, Course name, Course hours, Instructor name, Provider name, Provider phone number, and Provider email address. You will find all this required information on your Pace course completion certificates.
