New Mexico Continuing Education Requirements
New Mexico Administrative Code 16.30.3.12.C Continuing Education Reporting Requirements

In addition to all other requirements for registration renewal, an architect must complete a minimum of 12 continuing education hours each calendar year.
- Continuing education hours must be completed in health, safety and welfare subjects acquired in structured education activities.
- Continuing education hours may be acquired at any location, whether delivered by direct contact or distant learning methods.
- Excess continuing education hours may not be credited to a future calendar year.
New Mexico Administrative Code 16.30.3.12.E Continuing Education Record Maintenance and Verification
- Each registrant should maintain certificates of completion and any other documentation showing proof (receipts, fliers, AIA transcripts).
- Documentation of reported continuing education hours shall be maintained by the architect for three years from the date of award.
- Currently the Board does not require a full report of each credit/hour to be submitted along with renewal, but each registrant is responsible for certifying completion on the renewal form.
- Keep the documentation as part of your records; the documents will be needed if the registrant’s certification is audited by the Board.
