Minnesota Continuing Education Requirements
Minnesota Statute 326.107 Subdivision 1.c Continuing Education Requirements
- All licensees or certificate holders must obtain 24 professional development hours (PDH). Two of those hours must be dedicated to professional (but not necessarily profession-specific) ethics and those ethics hours must be earned during the proper period (they cannot be carried forward as ethics hours).
- Practitioners may pursue technical, nontechnical, regulatory, ethical, and business practice needs for a well-rounded education provided the education directly benefits the health, safety, or welfare (HSW) of the public.
Minnesota Statute 326.107 Subdivision 7 Continuing Education Record Maintenance and Verification
Licensees and certificate holders must keep records of courses and activities and those records must include all of the following:
- dates
- subjects
- duration of programs
- sponsoring organization
- professional development hours earned
- registration receipts where appropriate
- other pertinent documentation
You must maintain those records for a period of four years after the end of the licensure/certification period for which the hours apply. The Board may require you to produce this information in connection with verification of a renewal application, a random audit conducted by the Board, or upon receipt of a complaint alleging noncompliance on your part.
