This three hour module provides an overview of doors. Interior and exterior doors are a major component of the millwork industry because of their importance to structures and the quantity sold. No other single component has as much influence on the appearance of a structure as the entry door. The module includes a discussion of the many types of doors and the construction of each type. Special attention is given to panel doors, flush doors, and interior and exterior doors. It is important to understand the terms used to describe doors, the parts of doors, how doors are constructed, and their application.



Course Objectives


Now, let us turn our attention to the objectives of this module. At the conclusion of this module you will be able to identify the functions and types of wood doors; you will be able to classify doors into two types, panel  & flush doors and you will be able to identify their components; additionally, you will have a clear understanding about interior and exterior doors types and uses.
