This one hour interactive distance-learning course was designed to provide the Licensed Florida Contractor with an understanding of Chapter 440.
This one-hour interactive distance-learning course was designed to provide the Licensed Florida Contractor with an understanding of the Florida Workers Compensation Law. The course covers areas of extreme importance to contractors, such as: Florida Statutes Chapter 440, how contractors obtain workers compensation coverage, exemptions from workers compensation, how much does the insurance cost, and how the workers compensation rates are established. Additionally, premium discounts, special rating programs. The course culminates with the instructor providing information on safety premium credits that can save the contractor hundreds or even thousands of dollars on their workers compensation cost.
To receive credit for this course, the contractor must obtain a passing score of 70% or higher on the combined score of all quizzes.

Instructor Bio


Bonnie PrinseBonnie Prinse

Ms. Prinse holds a BS Degree in Environmental Studies from Eckerd College and has pursued master degree studies in Aquatic Zoology at the University of South Florida. She has written scientific portions of impact statements for wetland/upland land delineation, endangered species studies, and water quality testing while employed with a civil engineering and architectural firm in Tampa, FL. Her experience in environmental studies and new construction lend itself to documentary film making, particularly environmental stories that have taken her to the Amazon in Peru and to Costa Rica. Most recently her involvement with earthen construction projects led to a video production showcasing the benefits of building “green.”
