Course Description


This one hour course covers other materials used in the production of Millwork to include plastics, urethane, glass, metals, fiber and composites. The course also provides an overview and an introduction to these materials. It also presents the properties, manufacturing methods, and installation guidelines for each of these types of materials.



Course Objectives


 

Upon successful completion of this course, the participant will be able to:

  • identify the types of plastics used in millwork
  • describe the differences in thermosets and thermoplastics
  • define urethane and its uses
  • discuss the types of glass used in millwork, as well as the types of metals used in millwork
  • explain the role played by each of these materials in the production of millwork
