The Building Code Administrators and Inspectors Board is responsible for licensing and regulating building code administrators, building code inspectors, and building code plans examiners.
License holders must complete 14 hours of continuing education during each biennium prior to the November 30th (odd year) renewal date. Of the 14 required hours, a minimum of 2 hours must be areas of accessibility (AOA), a minimum of 2 hours of Florida laws and rules and a minimum of 1 hour of ethics for code officials.
Note to code officials who are also Florida licensed contrators or architects: Many of the courses listed below are also approved by the Florida Construction Industry Licensing Board (CILB) and/or the American Institute of Architects (AIA). You will note references to their CILB approved category in the course title.
